Staging the Nation
In its fifth year, the National Theatre of Scotland is resuming, provoking and joining a nationwide conversation about theatre with Scottish artists and audiences. Staging The Nation is many things – lectures, debates, curated events, book clubs – and is open to everyone who shares a passion for theatre-making in Scotland. In 2010, the National Theatre of Scotland asked Scottish playwrights to chose their favourite Scottish play. In the first of their rehearsed play readings, Peter Arnott introduces a reading of his favourite, Joe Corrie’s IN TIME O' STRIFE at the Citizens Theatre and explains why it’s so meaningful to him.
