What we'll be reading

This term we'll be exploring Howard Brenton's stage adaptation of The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists by Robert Tressell. The story captures the lives of a group of painters and decorators pre 1st World War, under constant fear of being laid off. It’s full of characters, a gentle sense of humour and humanity.

You will need a copy in advance of the first session. We will be reading the Howard Brenton adaptation, published by Nick Hern Books. It can be bought from a range of online stores including BlackwellsNick Hern Books and Hive
