The Macbeths

The Macbeths

At the heart of Shakespeare’s darkest play is a disintegrating marriage. This radically cut 70 minute adaptation focuses on the relationship between one of the most famous killers in literature and his ambitious wife, played by Charlene Boyd (Fever Dream: Southside) and Keith Fleming (Oresteia: This Restless House, Miss Julie, Cyrano de Bergerac).

‘O full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife’

Returning from battle, Macbeth hears a prophesy emboldening him to murder and betray. Compelled by his equally ruthless wife, Macbeth ignores his creeping sense of guilt and hopelessness and attempts to hasten the hand of fate, unwittingly ushering in the downfall of them both.

Dominic Hill’s brutal and intense production tells the Bard’s famous story in a powerfully concentrated form. First performed in our Circle Studio in 2017, this thrilling version of the Scottish play will be adapted for audiences to experience at home.

The film of The Macbeths will premiere online in Spring 2021. More information coming soon
