Saturday Citizens

Make friends, learn new skills and have fun

Drama classes and summer schools for learning disabled and/or neurodivergent young people (aged 14-19). 

Participants play drama games and devise performance pieces. They tell their own stories, in their own way. Past projects have included developing a podcast series and making a short film. The group have worked with filmmakers and spoken word artists.   

Practical information

  • We run three terms throughout the year. Classes take place on a Saturday morning 11am – 1pm.  
  • There is also a five-day course in the summer. 
  • Sessions currently take place at Impact Arts.  
  • The term costs 50p per session and is booked in advance. 
  • The classes are led by Morna McGeoch, Fergus Arnott and a team of other experienced participatory arts professionals.

If you are interested in joining the Saturday Citizens then email Morna. She will chat to you about the group, available facilities and access. We’d be really happy to hear from you and answer any questions that you have.   

We want to ensure our classes are as accessible as possible. When booking, there will be an opportunity to include your access requirements or request a chat with one of our Participate team.

Meet Morna

Morna is a drama facilitator who has many years of experience in making and exploring theatre with learning disabled/neurodivergent young people. 

Morna has a BA in Community Arts and over 10 years of experience working with companies such as Citizens Theatre, Birds of Paradise Theatre Company, National Theatre of Scotland and Tron Theatre.
