A sociable play-reading group for older adults

Each week, our online and in-person groups meet to read and discuss a great play together, focusing on a different play each term.

These fun, sociable sessions allow participants to meet new likeminded people while discovering a great story and learning more about the world of theatre and playwriting.

Most recently, groups have read Mary Queen Of Scots Got Her Head Chopped Off by Liz Lochhead, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, and Accidental Death of an Anarchist by Dario Fo, adapted by Tom Basden.

Practical information

  • Meets weekly on Wednesdays
  • Online group: Wednesday mornings on Zoom
  • In-person group: Wednesday afternoons at Impact Arts in Glasgow City Centre – these will take place in our new building when we reopen
  • Both groups read the same play each term

What our participants say

The company, the laughs, the chat, the subjects we’ve discussed…This has made a big difference to me during Lockdown.

Thanks everyone for another great session of banter! The highlight of the week!

How to get involved
