Take Part

Community Collective

In line with the latest advice, the Community Collective continue to meet virtually until face-to-face groups can return. See our full statement on Coronavirus.

The Community Collective is a sociable drop-in group for people who share an interest in theatre.

The group meet on a Friday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm and use drama exercises and improvisation in imaginative ways to create theatre and have fun.

The Community Collective have performed on the main stage of the Citizens Theatre, at international festivals and in the heart of the Gorbals.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Community Collective currently meet via Zoom. They’ve celebrated birthdays, written raps, explored the fairy-tale world of Covid (where Cinderella constantly sanitises, the ball is cancelled and Little Red Riding Hood isn’t allowed to visit her granny) and filmed Christmas songs. As well as online activities they have enjoyed taking part in the doorstep challenge series – creating live performances through windows and doorways. Read our blog to discover more about how the group has stayed connected throughout the pandemic.

If you are interested in taking part please contact Neil Packham, Community Drama Director neil@citz.co.uk. No experience is necessary but please bring your sense of adventure!
