2. Conditions of sale

All tickets are sold subject to availability and to these terms and conditions. These should be read carefully prior to purchase and any queries relating to them should be raised with us prior to purchase, as purchase of tickets constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

We must be provided with contact details when you book to contact you should any performance or event details change or be cancelled.

For safety, all patrons attending a show must have a ticket, including children.

2.1 Age recommendations

Many of our productions and events have age recommendations and we suggest you consider this before booking tickets for children.

  • For shows and events that are not specifically made for children, babes in arms (children under 2 years unless otherwise stated at the time of booking and on the ticket) are free, however, still require a ticket. This does not give them a seat in the auditorium, they will be expected to sit on your knee. We highly recommend that babes in arms only attend productions that are stated as being appropriate for very young children.
  • Children (ages 2-15 years inclusive) shall require their own ticket which shall be at full ticket price if no child concessions are available at the time of booking.
  • Children (ages 15 years and under) must be supervised at all times. Supervision of children shall be by not less than 1 adult (aged 18 years or over) per 10 children and the supervising adult must sit next to the child or children.
  • The Citizens Theatre is supportive of parents and carers – if, in the opinion of Management, children attending are causing a disturbance, it will be suggested that the parent/carer leave the performance space to settle the child. We will endeavour to enable you to return to the performance as soon as possible.

2.2 Pricing, offers and concessions

Prices are advertised via a number of channels and are provided by us on the basis of information available to us.

Prices may change from those published. We reserve the right to make price changes without notice, including the introduction of discounts or offers.

Offers and ticket deals are subject to availability, may be time restricted and do not apply to tickets already purchased.

You must state any discount to which you think you might be entitled at the time of booking, including any concessions.

Concessions vary according to performance and may not always be available. Proof of identity/entitlement may be asked for at the time of booking, ticket collection or at the performance itself. Failure to produce reasonable proof of entitlement to a concession/discount may invalidate the ticket and result in refusal of admittance or a request to leave the venue. Alternatively, you may be asked to pay the relevant price difference to the price band your seat is located in.

For more information about our concessions please visit our pricing page or the show listing.

2.3 Access

If you have access requirements, please advise when booking.

If your access requirements change, please contact Box Office via sales@citz.co.uk as soon as possible to ensure venue staff can support you.

2.4 Tickets

Once purchased, tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.

It is your responsibility to:

  • Check your tickets for mistakes as they cannot always be rectified after purchase. Contact us immediately if there is a mistake. We cannot be responsible for any ticket that is lost, stolen or destroyed.
  • Determine whether an event has been cancelled or rescheduled. Where cancellation occurs, we will make all reasonable endeavours to notify you of the change, but cannot guarantee that all will be informed before the date of the event.
  • Hold a valid ticket to gain entrance to an event. The ticket must be retained by the customer whilst in the venue and must be made available for inspection if requested by the venue staff. Failure to produce a valid ticket may result in a request for you to leave the venue.

In the event of a performance being cancelled or rescheduled, the face value of tickets and any booking fee will be refunded.

We reserve the right to alter or amend the programme of performances, classes and events as necessary because of unforeseen circumstances.

2.5 Reservations
