Tales from the Wagon will bring together a cast of 20 performers, a band of musicians and team of creative writers to share stories; capturing experiences from prison transport journeys, and exploring the themes of second chances and lucky escapes.

Actor/ musicians Ian Bustard and Joyce Falconer will perform alongside the cast, who will also be supported by a professional creative team including designer Ailsa Munro, composer and music director Alan Penman and digital sound artist Rikki Traynor.

There will also be a exhibition of work prior to the performances, curated by artist Rachel Mimiec.

More about our PRISON WORK

Tales from the Wagon is the final part of a three-year residency and creative programme within HMP Barlinnie. Citizens Learning are working in partnership with New College Lanarkshire and the Scottish Prison Service to engage prisoners in education through new ways. Citizens Learning staff members Elly Goodman and Neil Packham ensure there is a coherent through-line of artistic activity that is linked to opportunities for prisoners to continue their creative connection with the Citizens Theatre once they have been liberated.
