Moonset: Secondary Schools

As part of the experience we are offering to schools for Moonset, we are running pre-show workshops that are included in your schools booking. These can take place in your school in the weeks before the show.

There are a range of workshop options from focusing on key themes, characters and story within the play text, or the theatrical and staging possibilities of this piece of new writing.

The workshops are designed to be adaptable to the needs of school timetables and education focus. We suggest these are most suitable for S4 pupils and upwards, including:

  • Drama students working on Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher (if desired the workshop can be focused on preparing students to discuss it as part of their Performance Analysis assessment)
  • English students looking to expand their experience of contemporary Scottish writing, particularly from writers with refugee or migrant heritage
  • Non-assessment learners interested in expanding their experiences of the creative arts, in particular, the Nat 2 Performance Arts Course

Delivered within schools, workshop slots are available during school time on selected dates between 30 Jan and 8 Feb 2023. On each of these days, we are able to offer morning workshops, and afternoon workshops to suit your school’s schedule (subject to availability).

Once you have booked show tickets, please contact to schedule your workshop. Let us know which venue and performance you have booked.

This is a fantastic opportunity for secondary school students to engage with contemporary new writing from one of Scotland’s most exciting writing talents, as well as the chance to reconnect with the Citizens Theatre as we redevelop our Youth and Schools programme ahead of re-opening our historic venue in 2024.
