We are working in partnership with the Gorbals Youth Café to run a week’s summer project, based at the Citizens Theatre.

NTS Exchange 2012 - Young Co.

In July 2012, Young Co. took part in a week-long residential theatre festival hosted by the National Theatre of Scotland. They joined Scottish and international youth theatre groups for a week of theatre-making, collaboration and fun.

Giraffes Can’t Dance

Giraffes Can’t Dance

Working in partnership with Scottish Ballet, we delivered dance, drama and storytelling workshops for Glasgow primary schools - based around the hugely popular book “Giraffes Can’t Dance”.


Shakespeare Out Loud

After the success of Beyond Macbeth, our Introduction to Shakespeare workshops at the National Library of Scotland, Citizens Learning delivered a series of drama workshops bringing the Bard to primary pupils.

Inglefield Women’s Hostel - exhibition

The Citizens Theatre has had a long term relationship with Social Work Services and Glasgow Life. The Citizens Learning team, with guest artists have run regular workshops at Inglefield Women’s Homeless Unit. Over the past 3 years the residents have participated in drama, creative writing, film-making, visual art and song-writing and recording.

What Craig Did Next

We returned to five of the schools who we worked with on Don’t Start Me! to explore the impact of the project and continue an exploration of criminal behaviour. In partnership with Strathclyde Police.

Correct Change

Correct Change

In partnership with East Lothian Arts and the Citizens Advice Bureau, we will be working with up to 270 P5 children in East Lothian primary schools in February-March 2012. Classes will receive a series of 4 drama workshops exploring the practical and emotional consequences of managing and mis-managing money.

Second Stories

Second Stories is an idea that was pioneered in the USA. The idea to introduce this programme to Scotland was born out of exchange work that Citizens Theatre staff participated in with Serendipity Theater Collective Chicago.
