THE COMEDY OF ERRORS TO OPEN ON WED 21 JULY
We are pleased to confirm that the Citizens Theatre’s production of The Comedy of Errors will play from Wed 21 – Sat 24 July as scheduled. An additional matinee performance is scheduled for Friday 23 July at 2.30pm.
Five performances between 11-20 July regrettably had to be cancelled due to members of the company testing positive for Covid-19 during the final week of rehearsals. We have followed all Scottish Government and NHS Scotland procedures. With isolation periods now complete and all affected members making a strong recovery, we can now confirm that performances in the second week of the run from 21 – 24 July will go ahead.
The production is part of Scottish Opera’s Live At No.40 festival and will be performed in a specially-created outdoor venue at their production studios in Edington Street, Glasgow.
All ticket-holders for the cancelled performances have been contacted directly and received a full refund.
Dominic Hill, Artistic Director, Citizens Theatre said:
“Having completed NHS Scotland procedures, we are pulling out all the stops to get the show up and running for audiences next week. Most importantly, those who tested positive are in good health or getting much better. Our robust health and safety measures have helped us manage the situation as best as possible. We are grateful to everyone who has shown their support for the production and we are looking forward to welcoming our audiences back to live performance.”
