POSTPONEMENT TO OPENING OF THE COMEDY OF ERRORS
Unfortunately, despite extremely robust measures being in place, members of The Comedy of Errors company have tested positive for Covid-19 during the final week of rehearsals. We are therefore regrettably forced to cancel the performances of The Comedy of Errors on 11, 12, 14 and 16 July. These were due to be staged as part of Scottish Opera’s Live at No.40 Festival. The wider festival is unaffected.
We hope to still be able to run performances in the second week of the run (20-24 July). This will be confirmed as soon as possible.
We are following all Scottish Government and NHS Scotland procedures. Strict health and safety processes have been followed at all times and there was no public access to the building where the cast were rehearsing.
All ticket-holders for the affected performances will receive a full refund and will be contacted directly.
Dominic Hill, Artistic Director, Citizens Theatre said:
“We have been looking forward to welcoming audiences back to live performance and are incredibly disappointed to have to cancel these performances. But the safety of our staff, artists and audiences are our first priority. We hope to still be able to stage performances in the second week of the run and will keep our audiences updated every step of the way. We are grateful to everyone who has shown their support for the production.”
