Flora’s Fairy Challenge

Citizens Theatre presents
Flora’s Fairy Challenge
Thu 10 Dec – Thu 31 Dec 2015, Citizens Theatre Circle Studio

The Citizens Theatre presents Flora’s Fairy Challenge, a Christmas show for little ones in the theatre’s Circle Studio from Thursday 10 – Thursday 31 December. Written specially for 3 – 6 year olds, Flora’s Fairy Challenge is created by Andy McGregor with Marianne Yeomans. Flora’s Fairy Challenge is an interactive, inspiring musical adventure featuring lots of laughs and songs to sing along with and is an ideal introduction to the magic of theatre.

Flora’s Fairy Challenge is about a young girl’s mission to meet Santa at the North Pole. When she gets there, however, she discovers that Santa has a big problem: his sleigh needs magical fairy dust to fly and there’s none to be found so close to Christmas. Intrepid explorer Flora takes up the challenge to save Christmas. Although she’s not a fairy, Flora soon discovers with the help of a few young friends that there’s more to being a good fairy than a pretty dress and a sparkly wand.

Citizens Theatre welcomes back Andy McGregor who directed and composed the songs for last year’s 5-star show, Eric the Elf’s Chaotic Christmas which captivated young audiences. Set designer Neil Haynes’ has created a magical winter wonderland for Flora to explore in the intimate surroundings of the Circle Studio. Haynes has designed several main stage shows at the Citizens Theatre and also worked on Eric the Elf’s Chaotic Christmas recreating Santa’s Grotto in the Circle Studio last year. Flora is played by Stephanie McGregor, who performed previously on the Citizens Theatre’s main stage in last year’s Christmas show, A Christmas Carol and the hit musical Glasgow Girls, a co-production with National Theatre Scotland and Theatre Royal Stratford East.

Flora’s Fairy Challenge is presented alongside Rapunzel, a festive show for families aged 6+ on the main stage. Rapunzel’s hair is out of control, it doesn’t matter what she does with it, it’ll never stay in one place. A funny, foolish, madcap story, with a darkly mischievous side, Rapunzel is a story about knowing when to let go and the challenges that come with finding your place in the world.

Family tickets for Flora’s Fairy Challenge start from just £21 for a family of three and a wide selection of performance times are available also. See citz.co.uk for further information on ticket prices and performance schedules or call the Box Office on 0141 429 0022.
