DES TELLS TALL TALES MEDIA RELEASE
Internationally acclaimed Scottish writer Des Dillon sets out on his one man stand up Comedy show, Des Tells Tall Tales. Sit back and sink into the crazy world of Des Dillon where stand up comedy meets one of Scotland’s most hilarious storytellers.
With tremendous brio he spouts tales of epileptic dogs, dead cats, washing machines, religious apparitions, alcoholics, monks, chickens, gun toting policemen, the devil himself, catholics and protestants, the insane, laughing policemen, prisoners, priests and nuns, gold diggers, mad women and furious farmers with tremendous wit, humour and speed!
This one man show comes hot on the heels of success of the Russian language premier of his play Six Black Candles in Kiev this month, where it received standing ovations, as well as a sell-out tour of Scotland and Northern Ireland of Singin’ I’m No a Billy He’s a Tim, by NLP Theatre. NLP will also present the world premiere of Dillon’s new comedy, Blue Hen (starring Charles Lawson) at the Citizens Theatre this May.
Des Dillon is a former teacher, who now writes for television, stage and radio. His first book, Sniz, a collection of poetry, was published in 1994, and he has since had eight novels and a poetry collection published. Dillon has also taught creative writing at the Arvon Foundation and was Writer in Residence in Castlemilk, between 1998 and 2000. He was also a writer on BBC Scotland’s River City.
