Thank you to our audiences, participants and friends who have shown us such support, not just in the past few months, but over the past few years as we rebuild our Gorbals Street home. In response to the cancellation of events, many of you of have donated your ticket purchase or converted it to a credit for future performances – a big thank you for that too.
Being at the heart of a community and helping to transform the lives of the people within it, has always been a major part of the Citizens’ mission and while it will be some time before we can start producing theatre again, we will continue to reach out to the most vulnerable and isolated.
For the time-being we will be bringing people together online, or on the phone, or talking to them through open windows, ensuring that audiences, participants and members of our communities can stay in contact with us and with each other.
If there is one thing that I have been reminded of during this time, it is the importance and power of community. And when this is over, theatre will be more important than ever as we come together to laugh and cry and be thrilled by the power of a shared, live performance. I can’t wait for that day.
