A message from Artistic Director, Dominic Hill

Thank you to our friends, participants and audience members who have shown us such support, not just in the past few months, but over the past few years as we rebuild our Gorbals Street home. In response to the cancellation of events, many of you of have donated your ticket purchase or converted it to a credit for future performances – a big thank you for that too.

We are going to be quiet for a while, but many of us will still be busy in the background planning, fundraising, volunteering and keeping in touch with our participants. Being at the heart of a community and helping to transform the lives of the people within it, has always been a major part of the Citizens’ mission and we continue to reach out to the most vulnerable and isolated.

Our thoughts are with those trying to keep us safe and well. If there is one thing that I have been reminded of during this time, it is the importance and power of community. And when this is over, theatre will be more important than ever as we come together to laugh and cry and be thrilled by the power of a shared, live performance. I can’t wait for that day. Keep well.

Support Us

Like all arts organisations across the UK, the loss of ticket income as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic has had a big impact on us and the creative community we support. If you can afford it, your donation will ensure that we continue to serve communities across Glasgow and Scotland.
