Writing for the Stage

If you’ve ever wanted to have a go at writing for the stage but are a wee bit feart this could be right up your street!

Eight informal and entertaining sessions led by playwright Martin Travers that will:
• look at the writing techniques employed in key scenes from modern plays
• examine how characters interact with one another and how the relationships between them are built
• introduce you to the skills required to write short monologues and dialogues
• give you the playwrighting skills you need to develop a new dramatic or funny scene

Your new writing developed on the ‘Writing for the Stage’ course will be showcased by Level 4 Nightschool participants. Nightschool Level 4 is a specialist evening acting course which focuses on working towards performance.

Scenes will be staged and brought to life under the guidance of Guy Hollands, Citizens Theatre Associate Director.

The course is for 10 to 12 participants. The course will only run if these numbers of participants are achieved.
