Writing for the Stage
If you’ve ever wanted to have a go at writing for the stage but are a wee bit feart this could be right up your street!
Eight informal and entertaining sessions led by playwright Martin Travers that will:
• focus on key scenes from modern plays
• explore drama techniques to look at conflict and status between characters
• write short monologues and dialogues
• develop a new scene written by you
Your new writing developed on the ‘Writing for the Stage’ course will be showcased by Level 4 Nightschool participants. Nightschool Level 4 is a specialist evening acting course which focuses on working towards performance.
Scenes will be staged and brought to life under the guidance of Guy Hollands, Citizens Theatre Associate Director.
You will be invited to the read through of your scene and have the opportunity to watch your work being rehearsed on Monday 18 September 2017. The new writing generated from the course will be showcased on Monday 20 November in front of an invited audience.

The course is for 10 to 12 participants. The course will only run if these numbers of participants are achieved.
