Trainspotting: Curtain Raiser
23 years since the book was published, 22 years since the stage premiere at the Citizens and 20 years since it became the defining British film of its era. Why does this story keep resonating with new generations of fans? In this special pre-show event we compare notes on Irvine Welsh's book, Harry Gibson's stage adaptation and Danny Boyle's pop-culture film, exploring the Trainspotting phenomenon. 6.15pm - 7pm Joining us will be Trainspotting director Gareth Nicholls, Senior Lecturer in Film and Television studies at Glasgow University David Archibald, Scottish author and playwright Alan Bissett and journalist Kirstin Innes.
