The Garden

The Garden

A dysfunctional couple discover a strange plant growing through the floor of their kitchen. The more they pull up its roots, the more it grows back, its gentle insistence reminding them of emotions long-forgotten. Originally commissioned by sound, (North East Scotland’s Festival of New Music), The Garden is a short opera for two singing actors based on Zinnie Harris’ short play of the same name as part of the ‘World is Too Much With Us’ season at the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. 'An astonishingly moving portrait of a loving couple at the end of their tether.' Scotsman (on the original play) Presented by sound festival, Aberdeen
