Fancy reading a great play in the company of others from the comfort of your own home? If so, grab a coffee and join us on Wednesday mornings on Zoom as we read, explore and talk about David Greig’s Outlying Islands.
No advance reading is required – enjoy finding out what happens each week!
These sociable online sessions are a digital alternative to our normal weekly play-reading workshops and are aimed at older adults.
Outlying Islands by David Greig
In 1939, on the eve of the Second World War, two young Cambridge ornithologists arrive on a remote Scottish island, inhabited only by Kirk, the authoritarian leaseholder, and his niece Ellen, a young woman in love with the stars of silent comedy.
Please buy a copy of the play in advance of the first session. You can purchase it from a range of online stores including Foyles, Waterstones and Amazon.
What will I need?
To access the sessions all you need a smartphone, tablet or laptop and an application called Zoom which you can download for free. Don’t worry if you’ve not used Zoom before, we have a step-by-step guide and we are very happy to talk you through it, you'll be practically a Millennial!
How do I sign up?
Just click the book now button! There are a limited number of places so advance booking is recommended. Your booking will require an email address. We will use that email address to get in touch before the start date with more information and instructions on how to access the weekly sessions.
Any questions at all? Please get in touch with Louise at louisebrown@citz.co.uk
