Intensive acting course with Dominic Hill
One week acting course for experienced non-professionals aged 17+

This intensive course, run by one of Scotland’s leading theatre directors, will explore different approaches to acting for theatre.
Using a wide range of texts – from William Shakespeare to Caryl Churchill - it will offer guidance, support and insight into the processes of acting – including how to approach a text, and physical and vocal work.
Taking place in the Citizens Theatre’s rehearsal room, the course offers individual and group tuition in a friendly and informal environment and will also give in an insight into the workings of the Citizens Theatre and performing on its stage.
The course is aimed at experienced non-professionals or those intending to follow a career in acting and will be led by the Citizens Theatre’s Artistic Director, Dominic Hill.

The balance of the course fee will be due by Thursday 1 June.

Dominic Hill has been Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre since 2011. Since then his productions have included King Lear, Crime and Punishment, Hamlet and Endgame, The Libertine, Doctor Faustus, Far Away & Seagulls, The Rivals, Fever Dream: Southside, Sleeping Beauty, A Christmas Carol, Hansel & Gretel and This Restless House. During his time at the Citz he has been awarded three Best Director Awards in the Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland (CATS). Previous roles include Artistic Director of the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and of Dundee Rep Theatre.
