Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play

Visiting Company

ARCHIVE

Watershed Productions present the BBC Worldwide and Polka Theatre production of Charlie and Lola’s Best Bestest Play. Don’t miss everyone’s favourite brother and sister, Charlie and Lola, in their extremely ever-so wonderful stage show! The stars of the hit BBC TV series and books by Lauren Child are brought to life by a magical mix of puppets, live action and music.

I have this little sister Lola.
She is small and very funny…

2-D and 3-D worlds mingle as we find out if Lola will ever tidy her room or if Charlie will get Lola to sleep, even though she is not sleepy and will not go to bed.  The Tigers want their bedtime milk, the Dancing Dogs have borrowed Lola’s pyjamas – not to mention the Ogre in the wardrobe!  Who’d have known there were so many problems to overcome?

Funny, subtle and charming”
Primary Times

It is a gentle little show, pitched just right for its target audience…An ideal early theatre experience.”
The Guardian

I thoroughly enjoyed the creative yet faithful translation of the books for the stage. More importantly, so did my three year old.
Time Out

It takes wit and ingenuity to take a winning formula from the nursery bookshelf and small screen and make it equally charming on stage, but this show pulls it off in fine style.”

This was a terrific show which even the 2 yr old was keep intrigued by ( most of the time anyway) At firstsI was disappointed it was puppets but then realised how imaginative it was and how much the puppeteers put into it. The children also loved the bubbles and the butterflies raining down. Well done Citizens - anyone who is dithering and has the chance- go!

Hi June, I don't think so. I believe Stirling and Inverness may be the only other Scottish venues. If you click on Watershed Productions (above) their website should have full tour details.

Hi Jo, We have wheelchair spaces at either end of row D and at the back of the stalls. Our auditorium is not that deep, so the seats at the back would have a better view and still not be too far away. I have spoken to Box Office and believe you have booked. Let me know if you need any more information.

Hi there We are really keen to come to see the Charlie and Lola Show. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children, with one of our chidren in a wheelchair. Just wanted to check if there is a concession for her and what days are the wheelchair spaces near the front available as she needs to be quite near to see? Many thanks Jo Boyce
