Sarah Amy Fishlock - Citizens / A Citizens’ Archive

Citizens is a photographic portrait of the Citizens Theatre and the Gorbals. Since July 2013, Sarah Amy Fishlock has been working with theatre staff and community members to document and illuminate this unique creative space and the neighbourhood that surrounds it.

She has also created A Citizens’ Archive, a collection of Gorbals images contributed by members of the public which provides an intimate view of the area’s past and present.

Images from Sarah’s projects will be on display in the theatre foyer, along with two publications documenting her residency.

Greg Sinclair - Songbooth

Songbooth is a unique music video installation created by Greg Sinclair and members of the Citizens Theatre community. In a purpose-built booth within the theatre foyer one audience member at a time can pull up a chair for an intimate musical experience.

Participants were asked to sing a song with personal meaning and this has resulted in a great range of music: familiar children’s songs, songs of various faiths and cultures and famous tunes from the charts and the movies. This incredible variety of music reflects the social and cultural diversity of the Citizens community.
