MAKE IT WORK
COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND TEAM BUILDING
Turning Point Conference | September 2012
For the 3rd consecutive year, Citizens Learning led two specifically designed workshops for over 50 staff at the Turning Point Annual Conference.
We used drama techniques to look at effective communication skills and team building, making sure that staff from different parts of the organisation had a lot of fun working together in an informal, creative way, sharing opinions, experiences and points of view.
AVOIDING WORKPLACE CONFLICT
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce | 14 February 2013
Subtitled “How to Avoid Employment Tribunals”, this interactive half day training session featured a cast of actors and an employment law professional to explore scenarios which might be faced by you, your staff and management at all levels in the workplace. The training provided a personal HR toolkit and developed some practical preventative approaches to de-escalate conflict.
Howden Technology | 12 February 2013
The Citizens designed a day of activities to allow staff from different departments of Howden to work together, sharing skills, experiences and opinions, in order to solve practical creative tasks. Participants reported back on the value of working alongside colleagues from other parts of the organisation, pooling talents to tackle a challenge, and doing so in a very different environment to the one they were used to. The day enabled staff to explore what makes for effective communication and the impact of that in the workplace.
