TAG
Detonate! is a brand new project by TAG which explores the history of the British Dynamite Factory (also known as Nobel’s Explosives Company) in Ardeer, North Ayrshire.
TAG will be working in partnership with North Ayrshire Council to deliver drama workshops in 4 primary schools for P6/7 pupils. The workshops will explore the stories of some of the workers employed in the factory and will also focus on the man who set up the factory, Alfred Nobel, who later went on to establish the world famous Nobel Prizes.
The pupils will use role-play and acting techniques to learn all about their local history and what life was like for those that worked in the dynamite factory, where explosions and injuries were commonplace. The project runs throughout November and December 2009.
