To celebrate the Bard's birthday, and to raise much-needed funds for our theatre redevelopment, we're offering two great prizes in our Shakespeare Prize Draw with a prize for those who love to be on the stage as well as one for those who prefer to watch!

For £3 you can enter to win one of the following:

The prizes

  • Shakespeare masterclass with Dominic Hill, Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre and one of the UKs leading theatre directors. Spend a half day with Dominic working on speeches and scenes from the world’s greatest playwright. Plus 4 tickets to a Citizens Theatre show of your choice. 
  • An overnight stay and lunch for 2 at Hotel Indigo, Glasgow plus a Friends membership for the 2018 season of Bard in the Botanics. Includes 4 tickets to the plays of your choice and priority booking.

All entries will also be entered into a draw to win one of five Citz goody bags.

The details 

A Shakespeare master class with Dominic Hill, Artistic Director of the Citizens Theatre and one of the UK’s leading theatre directors. One winner with up to three guests will have the chance to spend 3 hours with Dominic working on speeches and scenes from the plays of William Shakespeare. Dominic will choose the scenes that will be worked on and will provide guidance, support and insight into the processes of acting – including how to approach a text, and physical and vocal work. The master class will be arranged for a mutually convenient time and will take place in Glasgow with the exact location to be confirmed. Alongside the master class the winner will receive 4 tickets to a Citizens Theatre show of their choice. These tickets can be arrange through our Box Office and are subject to availability.

Overnight stay and lunch for two at Hotel Indigo Glasgow. Winners will be given a voucher for their prize and will arrange their stay directly with the Hotel. Winners will also receive a Friend membership for the 2018 season of Bard in the Botanics. Friends membership consists of 4 complimentary tickets to any Bard in the Botanics performances (subject to availability), priority information on all performances and projects, priority booking for all performance and acknowledgement in the Bard in the Botanics festival programme.

Please buy the appropriate prize draw tickets when entering the draw. All entrants will also be entered into a competition to win one of five Citizens Theatre goody bags comprising of a tote bag, posters, postcards, mug and stationary.

The Prize Draw closes on Sunday 29 April 2018 at 17:00pm (GMT). Draw will take place on Monday 30 April. 

The Citizens Theatre will be in contact with the winners within 3 working days to arrange their prizes.

Terms and Conditions

This prize-draw is being run by the Citizens Theatre. In making a bid you confirm you have read and agree to the terms of this specific prize.

  • Travel not included.
  • Disabled access is available. If required, the winning ticket holder will need to let the Citizens Theatre know at the close of the auction.

By buying an 'entry ticket' you are submitting an entry into the Prize Draw.

  • You may buy multiple entry tickets to increase your odds of winning.
  • Tickets are non-refundable and the money raised goes towards the Citizens Theatre’s redevelopment.
  • The prize draw closes on Sunday 29 April 2018 at 17:00 GMT.
  • The winner will be chosen at random and each entrant will be notified via email within 24 hours whether they have won or lost. The winners will be contacted within 3 working days to arrange their prize.
  • Please note Prize Draws are open to those over the age of 18 only.
  • Employees of the Host or the Citizens Theatre and their immediate families or households cannot enter the prize draw.
  • The Host or the Citizens Theatre in their sole discretion may exclude entrants from participating in the prize draw.
  • Anyone worldwide is able to enter but please note that delivery and customs charges may apply and differ from region to region.
  • Descriptions of prizes are provided without a warranty of any kind. In no event shall the Citizens Theatre (including its employees, affiliates and volunteers) be liable for any claim, demand or damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use by the Entrant of the site, the prize draw or their use of a prize.
  • The Citizens Theatre reserves the right to substitute a prize with an alternative prize in its sole discretion if circumstances beyond the Citizens Theatre control makes it necessary to do so.
  • There is no cash alternative to the prize.
  • The prize is not transferable.
  • The Host will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of equipment failure or software failure of any kind.
  • The decision of the Host is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
