Following his highly acclaimed, Sony Award winning and Writers Guild Award winning Radio 4 comedy show Mark Steel’s In Town, and the publication of a book of the same title, writer and stand-up comedian Mark Steel is back on the road - part of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
Bringing an element of Mark Steel’s In Town to each live performance, means Mark will write material shedding light on the quirkiness and interesting aspects of every town and city he visits, allowing each show to be unique - something local audiences up and down the country will devour and enjoy. Mark is committed to performing a routine about the history of every town he’ll perform in. However, he may regret making this promise!

As well as Mark Steel’s In Town, Mark has presented the BAFTA nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC2, is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News For You and Radio 4’s Newsquiz. He’s written several, acclaimed books, including: Reasons To Be Cheerful and What’s Going On and he writes a weekly column for The Independent.

Celia Imrie with Fidelis Morgan

Much-loved British actress Celia Imrie discusses her new autobiography The Happy Hoofer with friend and fellow actress Fidelis Morgan.
‘I’ve always been wilful…I’ve always been stubborn and always determined’

One of our best-loved actresses, Celia Imrie would rather have been a dancer. As a child she planned to join the Royal Ballet and marry Rudolf Nureyev. Now she has become one of our finest and funniest performers, on stage, TV and screen - adored for her roles in Acorn Antiques and dinnerladies, as well as films including Calendar Girls and Nanny McPhee.

In her hugely entertaining autobiography Celia Imrie recounts a life hurtling (not always intentionally) into adventures both on stage and off. Whether it’s finding herself on stage with half the scenery stuck to her cardigan, or being kidnapped on her way to location. Somehow she emerges from the chaos that can lie in her wake almost unscathed.

Honest, mischeivious and fun - don’t miss this chance to see Celia Imrie back at the Citz.

Love Letters to the Public Transport System
By Molly Taylor
In a fast-moving world where no-one stays in one place for too long, Love Letters to the Public Transport System is a show that seeks to find and thank the people who transport us daily; to friends, to lovers, to work, to moments of significance in our lives.

But how do you find them?

This one woman show explores the ordinary and extraordinary journeys we make every day, and finally thanks the people who make them possible.

Count Me In
By Gary McNair
Have you ever stopped to really think about it? Not just left or right, red or blue, but how it came about in the first place and how the whole system works?
In his latest one man show, Gary McNair investigates how we all live in a political system that none of us signed up to - we were just born into it. Do we just have to like it or lump it? Or can we do something about it?
Make sure you’re there because every vote counts. Or does it?
